When the diagnosis of a herniated disc is given, most medical doctors will say surgery is the only treatment option for this condition. What would you say if we could treat this condition with natural healthcare? Chicago chiropractor Dr. Seaman has successfully treated many disc herniation patients including post-surgical patients that continue to have pain even after surgery.
A disc herniation (ruptured disc) doesn’t mean the end of the world. The soft portion of the disc spills out like the inside of a jelly donut. A disc herniation can happen because of many different reasons. Structural imperfections (scoliosis), misalignments, vertebral jamming and imbalance of musculature can all cause your disc to rupture. When a herniated disc bulges out from between the vertebrae, the spinal nerves and spinal cord can become pinched and that when symptoms can appear. Symptoms usually include severe back pain and sciatica pain, numbness or tingling from the back, buttocks, and all the way to the foot.
Without proper alignment and movement, the discs wear out easily. The most important part is to know exactly what caused your disc to be in a position to rupture. Dr.Seaman will examine you but give you home instructions, massage and home pain control remedies to help optimize your healing.
At Seaman Chiropractic, we use a very specialized table called a flexion -distraction table. Although there are only a few in Chicago, it is specific for disc problems and very gentle. It separates each disc, pumps it to bring in blood flow to speed healing and moves the vertebrae to get back its full range of motion. This is the best technique for severe spine pain and/or leg pain back to a normal life WITHOUT surgery.
